Objective
Thoracic vertebral bodies and disc spaces T1–T12, pedicles, transverse processes and costovertebral joints.
Quality criteria
Complete T1–T12 visualised including cervicothoracic junction (C7) and thoracolumbar junction (T12–L1).
Pedicles symmetrical bilaterally.
Posterior ribs symmetrical (confirms absence of rotation).
Intervertebral spaces open and assessable.
No evident rotation.
Common errors
Patient rotation.
Incorrect centring.
Movement.
T1 or T12 not included.
