Intercondylar fossa

Anatomy

Depression between the femoral condyles on the posterior surface of the distal femur. It contains the cruciate ligaments. Visualised in the tunnel projection (Rosenberg) with the knee flexed to 45°. It is a frequent site of osteochondral lesions.
