Pneumoperitoneum
AnatomyPresence of free air in the abdominal cavity, visible on the erect abdominal projection as a subdiaphragmatic air crescent. A radiographic sign of perforation of a hollow viscus (e.g. perforated ulcer). The patient must remain standing for at least 5–10 minutes before the exposure.
